Dear Kate, I’m sure you would love to be here studying at the University of California with
me. It is wonderful. Guess what! Yesterday I attended a lecture on “Technology”. I learned lots of things. In fact, I learned a lot this year. For example,
in Digital Design, my graduate course, the students took their efforts to new
heights by tackling a new and exciting platform: Apple’s iPhone. Students
spent weeks developing and honing their programming and design skills.
In Engineering Design, another graduation course, teachers taught students
a creative design process, based on the scientific method, with lectures and
the creation, engineering, and manufacture of a remote controlled machine.
Students learned to identify problems and create, develop, and select the
best strategies using fundamental principles, appropriate analysis, and experimentation. I am really happy to study in this university. It is fantastic. For me,
it’s being extremely enjoyable to learn so many interesting things.
